Alma Caesari

Alma Caesari was born in London of an Italian mother and an Anglo-Italian father. Revealed natural gifts from early childhood, and studied singing daily for many years with her father E. Herbert-Caesari, the well-known teacher, and author of books on vocal technique.
 
 
 
First professional engagement was at the Winter Gardens, Bournemouth, with the Municipal Orchestra. After appearing in several Philharmonic concerts, she secured a one-year contract with the Hanover Opera House Germany. Also sang with the Hanover Symphony Orchestra, and on the Hanover, Hamburg Radio.

Leading soprano role (Lili) in “Lilac Time”, and leading operatic roles in Ireland, and in London with the revived Carl Rosa Opera Company. (1960) as Gilda in “Rigoletto”, Has appeared on BBC Television.

Petite, with a winning personality. Training in stage movement from two of Italy’s foremost operatic producers: Dr. Riccardo Picozzi, of La Scala, Milan, and Marcella Govoni of San Carlo, Naples.

Alma Caesari speaks, and sings fluently in English, Italian, French and German.
